bulletThe Red Clover Picture Book Award, started in 1997, is co-sponsored by Mother Goose Programs, Windham County Reads, the Vermont Department of Libraries and the Vermont Department of Education. Ten picture books are selected as candidates for the award, and students in Kindergarten to 4th Grade vote for their favorite in the spring.

bulletThe Dorothy Canfield Fisher (DCF) Children's Book Award, first given in 1957, is co-sponsored by the Vermont state PTA and the Vermont Department of Libraries. Each year, 30 books are selected as candidates for the award. Students in Grades 4-8 who read at least 5 books from the list are eligible to vote for their favorite in the spring.

Green Mt. Book Award List, books for teens

Rug Hooking Night: 3rd Wednesday, monthly at 7pm

Gather with Island Hookers to work on your latest project, and share ideas and techniques. Assistance for beginning rug hookers provided. This group representing all ages gathers in the library the third Wednesday of each month. Crafters working on other projects are welcome to attend.

International Film Fest:  features a selection of award winning films from around the world. Movies are shown on our large screen the first Wednesday of the month from 7:00-9:00 p.m.

BOOK DISCUSSION:  Post Colonial Africa, a 6 part series, Mondays 3:30-5pm.  starting October 27

ECHO PASS:  The Pass is valid 7 days a week and when presented gives up to two adults and 3 children admission to the Center for $2 per person. Please call the library to reserve the pass ahead of time. Check out their website at http://www.echovermont.org/
